A lifelong explorer, Andy began his career in the outdoor industry as a ski instructor at Beech Mountain, NC. Following his tenure as a medic in the Air Force, he found his way back to the outdoors as both a way of life and a vocation. Andy launched Action Sport, Inc in 1996 with an initial focus on the winter sports market, but eventually expanded to the broader outdoor industry, including the addition of footwear in 2010. Andy and his wife, Sarah, are based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and run the company’s North Carolina office.

Beaty’s relationship with the outdoors started in 1972, when he discovered the majesty of the Appalachian Trail. He was hooked… a 10-day hike lead to a lifelong career in the outdoor industry!
For the next twenty years, Beaty honed his skills in various outdoor stores and ski shops throughout the Southeast. He learned all aspects of running a retail store – managing, buying, merchandising and staff training. After becoming proficient at retail, Beaty ventured into the world of consulting, teaching manufacturers about the challenges and needs of the retail community. All of this knowledge eventually led Beaty to a career in sales.
From buyer, to manufacturing consultant, to sales representative, it’s safe to say that Beaty has experienced all sides of the outdoor industry. The lessons he’s learned, over the years, make him a valuable and effective member of the Action Sport team.

Growing up in the beautiful state of Vermont Billy had no choice but to love the outdoors… it was that, or be removed from the state!

Before becoming part of the Action Sport team Billy spent a decade as a ‘sales rep’ recruiter for some of the most prestigious manufacturers in the Outdoor and Sport goods industry. Over his 10 years as a recruiter, Billy learned what manufacturers and retailers demanded from their reps. Billy quickly saw the difference between a qualified manufacturers rep and a stellar manufacturers rep. As a representative of Action Sport, Billy exemplifies best in class, always striving beyond what’s expected.
